Back in sixth or seventh grade, we might have studied the chemical process and types. If you have pursued your career in a different stream other than science, then you won’t remember any of it now. But do you know we are facing this chemical process in our day to day life? If you can look around your surroundings, you may recognize them.

From cooking meal in your home to the chemical explosion occurs in some part of the world, everything would belong to the chemical process. Here we had discussed the chemical process and its types in detail.

What is the Chemical process?

A process involves the change of chemicals or chemical compounds through chemical reactions is known as Chemical process. It takes place when two compounds come in contact with each other. This contact could occur naturally or could be stimulated by the help of any chemical agent. During the chemical process, the chemical composition of the chemicals or materials would get modified.

What are the types of chemical processes?

When you look upon the chemical reactions, the chemical substances which react are known as reactants while the chemical substances formed during the chemical process are known as products.  Based on this concept, the different types of chemical processes are Combination reaction, Decomposition reaction, Precipitation reaction, Neutralization reaction, Combustion reaction, and Displacement reaction.

What are the examples of a chemical process in daily life?

Whenever you light a matchstick, candle or make fire, there will be a combustion reaction. It combines the energetic molecules along with the oxygen, which would result in carbon dioxide and water. If you consider propane as an energetic molecule and when it combines with the oxygen, it will result in

C3H8 + 5O2 → 4H2O + 3CO2 + energy

If you noticed, iron would be covered with a reddish-brown membrane which is known as Rust. It happens over time when it is exposed to water often. The examples of rusting also include tarnishing of silver. The process is explained as

Fe + O2 + H2O → Fe2O3. XH2O

Photosynthesis is a process where the plants convert carbon dioxide and water molecules into food and oxygen. The plant absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen for humans and animals. The photosynthesis reaction takes place in the presence of sunlight, and it results in

6 CO2 + 6 H2O + light → C6H12O6 + 6 O2

Anaerobic respiration:

Anaerobic respiration takes place in the series of chemical reactions which involves the gaining of energy in the absence of oxygen. Whenever you had back from heavy workout or exercise, your muscle would undergo anaerobic respiration in the absence of oxygen. The process could be explained as,

.C6H12O6 → 2C2H5OH + 2CO2 + energy

If you consider the anaerobic respiration occurs by yeast and bacteria, then it would lead to the fermentation process further results in the production of ethanol, carbon dioxide. This reaction is applied to the manufacturing of cheese, wine, beer, yogurt, bread, and other baking products.

The examples we mentioned above are only a few from lakhs of the process taking place regularly around you and for more R&D on chemical products you can check out Now we hope you had understood that chemical laboratory is not only room for these chemical processes, but it happens all over the world.
